Rules
|
|
Tournament Rules:
The SDHSAA rules governing the game of basketball will be followed with these
additions or exceptions:
-All grades will play on 10 foot baskets.
-Intermediate size basketballs will be used in all divisions
-2nd and 3rd grade. Full court press is allowed only in
the 4th Quarter and during the last minute. This makes it so a team can’t just
stand in the backcourt with the ball and let the time run out.
-4th Grade can press to a 10 point lead.
-Four 8 minute quarters. The clock will run until the last 1 minute of
each
quarter.
-Four time outs per game. 2 full and 2 thirty second timeouts
-Technical fouls are scored 2 points and the ball out of bounds. -First
overtime is one minute.
Second overtime is sudden death.
-Awards given for 1st place and 2nd place in each division
-A player can only play on one team.
-All teams must have a basketball and uniforms with properly
numbered jerseys.
Teams need to supply their own practice
basketballs.
Unsportsmanlike behavior from coaches, players, or fans will not be tolerated
and may result in removal from the game/premises
