Youth Basketball Tournament Rules
and Regulations: 1.
There will be four 6 minute quarters for 5th - 8th grade. 4th Grade
will play four 5 minute quarters. 2.
The clock will also stop on every whistle. 3 minute running half time. 3.
Four time outs per game. 2 full and 2 thirty second timeouts. One additional
full time out in overtimes. 4.
Overtime will last 1 minute. 5. A
second overtime will be sudden death. 6.
20 point lead in 2nd half will be a running clock. 7.
There will be 3 pt shots on courts with lines. 8. A
team that is not ready to play 5 minutes after the scheduled time will
forfeit. 9.
Teams should be ready to play 15 minutes ahead of schedule. 10. No
full court press after a 15-point lead. No full court press in 4th
Grade until the last minute of 4th Quarter. 11.
All technical and intentional fouls will result in the automatic awarding of
two points plus the ball out of bounds. 12. The
referees are in charge of the game. Coaches may talk with referees during
time-outs and half time. All referee decisions
are final! 12
Should the tournament be canceled due to weather, Memorial will retain $50.00
of the entry fee to cover costs. 13.
Should a team cancel by January 11, it will be up to the director’s
discretion to refund the entry fee. 14.
Locker rooms wiil not be open. Leave
valuables with your coach or parent. 15.
Players may play up a grade; they may
not play down. Players may play for one team only. 16.
No organization or individual will be held responsible for any injury
incurred. 17.
Official women’s ball will be used in all divisions. No practice balls
will be supplied. 18.
No protests will be honored. 19.
All jerseys must be numbered on the back, preferably on the front and back.
Shorts must be basketball style shorts…no
cut offs etc. Should a team have two colors of tops, please bring both
colors. 20.
Concessions will be available. Except Discovery will only have water and
Gatorade. 21.
Youth spectators may shoot during time outs but will not be allowed to do so
during the last 3 minutes of the 4th
Quarter. 22.
